The Backstreet Boys singer and his wife Lauren Kitt Carter welcomed a baby boy into the world Tuesday.
Odin Reign Carter arrived after 30 hours of labor during a water birth at home, E! News confirms. "She had a very difficult labor," the source says. "It was hard on her. Of course, there was a happy ending!
Just a few short days ago, the new mom was more than ready to welcome her newborn. In fact, she expressed her hopes of having a natural birth close to home.
"We don't have a to-go bag because we are planning a home birth if all goes to plan," Lauren recently shared with E! News. "If [Nick] wants to film it, he can. I'm getting him a snorkel and mask."
Before the big day arrived, the couple was able to celebrate with a Game of Thrones-themed baby shower in Los Angeles.
Surrounded by close friends including band members Kevin Richardson and A.J. McLean, Nick and Lauren enjoyed an extra sweet gathering that included food from Sweet E's Bake Shop, gifts from bloom+KIND and a picture-perfect afternoon planned with the help of Stacy Ruiz Events.
"Amazing time at our #showerofthrones," Nick gushed on Instagram before praising how beautiful his wife looked. "We're stocked and ready for our baby boy!!"
Fans may remember last season's Dancing With the Stars where Nick was an impressive contestant. After receiving a perfect score for his dance number of "Can't Help Falling in Love," the boy band member found out the sex of his baby on live TV when blue balloons appeared out of a box.
"My wife and I are happy to personally announce that we are pregnant," the couple previously said in a statement to E! News. "It has been our dream to have a family together and we cannot wait to welcome our first child into the world."
